These vibrant abstract studies on paper are a continuation of my fascination with balancing elements in an artwork. I move around each geometric segment choosing each colour instinctively, pitting transparency against opacity and tone against colour. I layer several glazes to add subtlety or richness to an area, overlaying others with dense opaque colour sometimes allowing parts to show through. I’m simultaneously searching for tension and harmony in each piece.
